Respectful Relationships

We are committed to trauma-informed practice; implementing Thrive and therapeutic approaches and an understanding of Positive Regard for all. Such practices seek to improve the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people and underpin our code of conduct and relationship development at Meridian House; Respectful Relationships.

Behaviour stems from unmet need and until this need is met, students are unable to change their response to circumstances. We seek to be compassionate and seek to understand each student’s need, to help plan to strengthen each student’s engagement in learning and life.

With the growing crisis in children and young people’s mental health, our approach is needed, to prevent specific exclusions and allow a greater focus on the wider issue of poor mental health in young people, including problems with behaviour, attendance and attainment.

Meridian House have experts to work with our students and families to assess social, emotional, and behavioural needs and build an intervention strategy to support re-engagement with learning and life.
