Entry to Meridian House will be through the home school, working in partnership with staff at Meridian House. Capacity is limited to 24 students.

Before entry to Meridian House, it is expected that the home school will have already assessed for underlying Special Educational Needs including NGRT reading age, assessment data for English and Maths, completed SEMH assessments using the Thrive Approach, other therapeutic strategies and utilised relevant external reports such as SPLT, ASC diagnostics. When a SEND is identified the home school must have implemented a SEN Support Assess Plan Do Review (APDR) cycle.

The home school will have already implemented and evidenced a Pastoral Support Programme (PSP) and may have initiated an Early Help Assessment (EHA), engaging services as appropriate through either the EHA or Team Around the Child (TAC).

Meridian House will quality assure admissions, as per trust processes, and will work in partnership with the home school to ensure that each student receives provision which meets their needs and provides access to appropriate qualifications that supports their aspirations. Meridian House runs their own baseline assessments in English and Maths on entry.

Transport will be provided to Meridian House to and from the home school. Transport will be a single point of collection and drop off. If preferred transport can be organised by the parent / carer, in agreement with staff at Meridian House. If this arrangement is agreed the cost of this will not be met by Meridian House.
